Key challenges
The client was seeking to explore the operating model of their existing international Third-Party Logistics (3PL) service provider with efficient operational capability at the most competitive prices. The client also wanted the service provider to maintain and/or improve service levels, provide visibility, and account management through continuous improvement.
Our approach
TMX were required to run international logistics procurement process on behalf of the client, covering:
- Service and operational definition and process requirements
- RFP preparation, approval, and distribution
- Preparation and validation of volumetric
- RFP assessment criteria (Quality, Quantity, Risk)
- Respondent interviews
- Final selection and recommendation report
We have been really pleased with the outcome of where we have got to, and we would never have been able to get there without the support of TMX.
The results
TMX successfully delivered the international logistics procurement report to the customer within the allocated timeframe. The report meticulously outlined the top three recommended service providers for the client, determined through a comprehensive assessment encompassing qualitative, quantitative, and risk factors.
