Key challenges
Cleanaway faced a challenge in the state government tender for a container return scheme initiative, whereby they had to determine the best support across their network for geography, fleet, and equipment to accurately cost the project for a successful tender submission.
The benefit of what TMX displayed is that they actually listened and got their heads around what the problem was.
Our approach
The sustainability and supply chain teams combined, supported Cleanaway to define network configuration, scenario modelling and route optimization. Based on the scenario modelling, TMX were able to develop an optimized network design for Cleanaway to submit in the tender.
The results
As a result of the detailed network design, the government contract was awarded to Cleanaway, with the key point of difference in their offering being the provision of service to the whole state, rather than the proposed regions by government.
Since the tender was awarded, TMX is supporting the mobilization of the proposed operating model and continues to support Cleanaway in two other states in Australia.
